Here’s another fantastic and unusual wedding in Galway from the past few months. Noelle and Daniel got in touch about photographing their wedding in County Galway, Ireland and I was very keen to be involved. I’ve photographed several weddings all over Ireland it’s always great to get out and visit new venues for ceremonies and receptions.
I headed down from Belfast on a four hour drive to the small church of Ballinakill where they would get married and met the couple and their guests. It was a beautiful little church in a very sleepy part of the country. The church had some lovely windows and the light shining in during the ceremony made for some dramatic images. We took a few group photos outside the church with confetti but it was a very cold day despite the sun so we all made the short ten minute journey up the road to the Slieve Aughty Centre. This was a really fun venue to photograph the wedding at. Part eco friendly guest house, organic kitchen/garden and equestrian centre it was located up a lane and had stunning views over the local landscape. After lots of photos of the guests mingling and enjoying the first drinks we headed further down the lane slightly to an amazing little wooded area full of tree swings and gnomes! We got a real mix of fun photos here with the bridal party before heading back up to the venue to enjoy the rest of the evening.
The whole day was brilliant, I felt incredibly welcomed by everyone and we couldn’t have had a better day with the weather. All in all it was a pleasure to be part of, check out a small selection of the photos below!
