I had an amazing time recently photographing Derek & Kieran’s small and intimate ceremony! Derek & Kieran travelled over to Northern Ireland to get married at Flatfield House just outside of Moira last month. They had recently been married officially but due to Covid they were now ready for a proper celebration with family and friends.

Flatfield House just outside of Moira is owned by Roger Wilson who also happens to be an interior designer and of course with the ceremony happening at Halloween the place was decorated with pumpkins, candles and autumn colours.

Flatfield House was a brilliant location, it was my first time there and I always enjoy photographing weddings at new locations. The venue itself was held in a converted old red brick barn with beautiful archways in the brickwork and big bright windows. Surrounding the dining room are other beautiful old brick barns, flat fields all around and of course Flatfield House itself which is also a B&B.
Of course I can’t miss out on the fact Derek & Kieran were the best dressed couple I’ve seen in very fetching tweed suits in autumnal colours and we took some quick couples photos before the guests arrived.

The ceremony took place just outside in the courtyard, just after Derek & Kieran were driven up to the small gathering in a very bright red eye-catching VW Beetle.

With around 20 guests at the ceremony it was super intimate and Derek & Kieran’s family members actually performed the ceremony itself which was very special and being surrounded by their guests made for some great photographs. After the ceremony we did some more family group photos before drinks and dinner were served. I really enjoyed photographing this wedding, Derek & Kieran were the friendliest most laid back couple and seemed to have a fantastic time. I’ve added some of my favourite photos below.
Michael.
